No one likes to be under the weather, and at FMC we know how difficult things can be when your child is sick. Our policy regarding illness was crafted with sympathy, but also to protect the well-being all of our students and teachers.
Sick Child Policy
If your child is showing signs of illness, the lesson will be canceled. Due to the rapidly infectious nature of illnesses such as the flu, cold, or stomach bugs, we cannot make exceptions to this policy.
Symptoms and illnesses can include:
- Fever: Body temperature over 100 degrees.
- Coughing, hacking, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing: all unrelated to seasonal allergies.
- Expelling body fluids.
- Easily communicable infections such as pink eye, ear infections, strep throat, etc.
- Lice, rash, ring worm, chicken pox, or any additional skin infection.
Lessons may be resumed once symptoms abate, or students have begun an antibiotic regimen at least 24 hours prior.
Consider: You work hard to make sure your kids are safe wherever they are. How would you feel, knowing your teacher had just come directly from another lesson with a sick child?
Rescheduling a lesson due to illness
Remember: We understand that children can get sick overnight or come home from school feeling ill. While we sympathize with this unpredictability, we cannot make an exception to our sufficient notice policy regarding cancellations.
A lesson is eligible to be rescheduled if the FMC Office received the cancellation notice by 5pm the day prior to the lesson. Any lessons canceled the day of by a student, for any reason, are ineligible to be rescheduled.
The number of eligible lessons that may be rescheduled per student is dependent on your schedule plan.
