Connecticut is home to the 4th oldest symphony in the US
The Hartford Symphony Orchestra is the fourth-oldest orchestra in the country and gave its first performance in January 1898. Connecticut has played a central role in the cultivation of rock n roll since the early 1950s. Even though they are not considered a major music center, they have also nurtured some of the country’s greatest pop artists. Connecticut is home to several talented musicians and vocal artists including John Mayer and Michael Bolton.
