
For kids that love to sing, this class is a perfect way to develop those skills and build a strong foundation in music with songs they know and love! Disney favorites like “Let It Go” and “I Am Moana”, or classics like “Baby Shark” and “Twinkle Twinkle” will make it into the repertoire list. Solfege (do, re, mi, etc.) is a musical system based on syllables that is used in sight-singing. Beginners and pros alike have used this system for ages.
Solfege a great tool for developing music-reading and sight-singing skills, understanding music and tonal relationships, and developing a music foundation. This class will introduce basic solfege related to the C major scale, hand gestures related to each solfege syllable, and simple songs using solfege syllables.
By the end of the class, students will be able to sing and sign 3 songs using solfege. Some song examples that may be covered include Disney favorites that we know and love, in addition to “Doe, A Deer” (Sound of Music), “Mary Had a Little Lamb,” “Hot Cross Buns,” “Baby Shark,” “Row Your Boat,” “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” “3 Blind Mice,” “London Bridge,” “Are You Sleeping?,” “Star Wars Theme,” “Pop! Goes the Weasel,” “It’s Raining, It’s Pouring,” “I’m a Little Teapot,” “You are My Sunshine,” “Farmer in the Dell,” “Hickory Dickory Dock,” “Wheels on the Bus,” “Hokey Pokey,” “Chicken Dance”.

This class is perfect for: This class is geared toward children aged 8-13 who have an interest in singing, or who just want to learn more about music! It’s helpful to have some precursory knowledge of the treble clef.
After this class, you will be able to: By the end of the class, students will have gained a basic knowledge of solfege and have the skills to be able to sight-sing simple songs in the key of C using solfege syllables.
